How to decline online dating message
Should I bite the bullet and just go on these dates anyway? I'll go against the grain and say it strikes me a guy as polite to send a quick I'll-pass note, 'specially if the person's taken the time to write more than a sentence or two.
Is there a nice way to say 'thanks, but no' in online dating? If you're not interested, don't respond. And if you report inappropriately, the site will monitor your mail.
This guy does a nice job asking an easy question based on stuff we both like: I'm in the minority here. Being direct is not being a jerk. That's how it goes.

As you can see, people are pretty evenly split between "not replying is unspeakably rude" and "replying just to say no is a terrible insult. I think this is the most difficult decline for really anyone. I'm not an idiot.

Really, I don't understand how people think it's okay to just ignore other people when they're putting themselves out there. Writing a message and getting a girl to reply is the final battle with the boss. You are commenting using your WordPress. I dunno -- I did the online dating thing for a while, and I always made a point of responding to anyone that had even made a token effort to read, pay attention to, and seem open to discussing stuff in my profile.
Granted, for some people, a more heavy-handed approach is necessary. It's not a big deal.

And then there's those that actually read your profile and are genuinely interested, and would probably include some info on common interests or something. Don't respond to someone unless you're interested.

I message people sometimes and forget about it pretty quickly no matter how much I liked their profile.
